Home made shawarma
Ingredients:
- Chicken boneless: 250 gm
- Onion : 2 nos
- Cabbage : a small pieces( 1/4 of a medium sized cabbage)
- Tomato :1
- Cucumber : a small one or 1/2 of a cucumber
- Green chilies : 2 nos
- Carrot: 1
- Mayonnaise : 1 cup
- Pepper powder
- Salt
- Oil
- Chapathi or Kuboos
Preparation:
Cook chicken with 1/2 tbs of salt and 1/2 tbs of pepper powder. Then chop cooked chicken into small pieces. (You can crush the chicken with a mixer.)
Chop all vegetables into small pieces.
In a pan add 2 tbs of oil. Once hot add chopped onions and green chilies into it and saute for 2 to 3 minutes. Add 1/2 tbs of salt into it. Then off the flame and allow it to cool.
In a one cup mayonnaise add chopped carrot, cabbage,tomato and cooked onion. If you need , you can saute cabbage also with the onion to avoid the raw taste.
Add chicken pieces and 1/2 tbs of pepper powder into the mayonnaise mixture, mix it well.
Then in a chapathi or Kuboos place 3 tbs of mixture and roll it.
Fresh and healthy shawarma ready to serve. Serve with sauce.
