Oven baked tandoori chicken and rice
Ingredients :
For marinating the chicken :
- Whole Chicken
- Yogurt : 1/2 cup
- Tandoori Masala mix : 1 packet
- Ginger-garlic paste : 1 tbs
For the Rice
- 2 cup uncooked long grain rice
- 1 onion chopped finely
- 2 carrots chopped
- 2 clove garlic chopped
- salt as required
- 2 and 1/2 cups chicken broth
- Water : based on type of rice,( if more water required than chicken broth)
Preparation
- Marinate chicken for 12 hours
- Preheat oven to 350 degree Fahrenheit
- Grease a baking dish
- You can saute the onion or raw onion to the rice
- place the chicken on the center of the dish
- Tie up the legs
- Add washed and drained rice on both sides of chicken
- Add all other ingredients to the dish and cover with a aluminum foil
- Bake for hour, or cook until chicken and rice cook well
- Let it sit covered for 15 more minutes
- In between flip the chicken to make sure both sides are cooked evenly.
- Serve hot
