Tomato curry ( Thakkaali curry)
For 4 person
Ingredients:
- Tomato: 5 nos
- Onions : 1/2 medium sized onion chopped into small pieces.( or 1 small).
- Green chilies: 2 nos
- Garlic: 3 nos ( chop into small pieces )

Ginger : 50 gm (chop into small pieces)
- Curry leaves : 2 stems
- Green chilies : 1
- Mustard: 1 tbs
- Turmeric powder: 1/2 tbs
- Red chili powder : 1/2 tbs ( if kashmiri Red chili powder: 1 tbs)
- Salt : 1/2 to 3/4 tbs
- oil: as needed
- water: 1/4 medium sized cup
Preparation:
Clean the Tomatoes and cut into small pieces.
In a pan add two tbs of oil. once become hot, splutter the mustard seeds. Then add green chili pieces, Ginger , garlic paste and curry leaves. Stir it well, add chopped onion and green chili pieces.
Saute until onion turns it color slightly. Then add tomato pieces into it. Add 1/2 tbs salt , 1 tbs red chili powder and 1/2 turmeric powder. Stir it well and add 1/4 cup of water. cook for 5 to 10 minutes.
Once it is cooked well, Off the flame and serve it hot.
Simple tomato curry ready. Best combination with rice and chapati.
