Unnakaaya
For 30 to 35 numbers
Ingredients:
- Banana : 1 kg
- Egg: 6 nos
- Ghee: 2 tbs
- Sugar : 10 tbs
- Oil: for deep fry
- Water: as needed
- Cardamom powder: 1 pinch
- Cashew nuts, Raisin(Kismis) : 50 gm each ( for filling)
- Oil -For deep fry
Preparation:
Please note that for filling we have used eggs, cashews and raisins. you can use coconut instead of eggs.
Steam the bananas. No need to cook more.
Peel off the bananas and make a paste of it using a mixer without using water. not need to make it as a loosely paste. We need a thick paste.
Filling Preparation:
In a bowl add 6 eggs, and beat it using a spoon. Into this add 10 tbs of sugar, 1 pinch of cardamom powder , cashews and raisins. mix it well.
Pour 2 tbs of ghee to the pan and add the egg mixture into it. Stir it continuously for 2 to 3 minutes crush the eggs along with cooking. once eggs cooked off the flame and keep it aside.
If using coconut( 1 coconut) , grate the coconut and fry it in ghee. Add cashews and raisins( 10 numbers each) into it. In this case no need to use the eggs.
Take a big lemon sized balls from banana paste and round it well. Using thumb press it on center. Add 1 to 2 tbs of filling on it. Round it . Need to make a spindle shape using it as in the picture.
You can use oil or ghee in your hands. sometimes banana may stick on your hands while making the spindles.
In a pan pour the oil and heat it.Deep fry the prepared stuffed bananas in oil to golden brown.
